Press Release Summary = New Aussie surf camp with popular Byron Bay surf school entity gets rave reviews
Press Release Body = Australia\'s leading Byron Bay surf school, Kool Katz, has received unanimous acclaim following the June launch of its Go North Surfing Adventure.
The 6 Day Surfari began in Byron Bay, Australia\'s unofficial learn to surf capital and headed north via Noosa and Rainbow Beach to the tropical waters of Agnes Water in Queensland.
Dutch backpacker, Sanne Koene gave the trip a big thumbs up on her return.
``I had the most amazing 6 days of my trip through Australia! It was not what I expected. It was better!'' she said.
Kool Katz owner and tour leader, Terry Hannon, who opened Byron Bay's original surf school in 1993, said Byron was booming as a surf mecca.
But he said there was growing interest in Agnes Water and the neighbouring Town of 1770 as a backpacker and holiday destination.
The blonde instructor, also dubbed by backpackers as the ``Steve Irwin of learn to surf'' for his infectious surfing passion and good Aussie humour, has one of only two licences to operate in Agnes Water and the historic Town of 1770.
The Town of 1770 is where Captain James Cook first set foot on Australian soil on his Discovery voyage of Australia in 1770.
``Backpackers have discovered the beauty and magic of these small coastal villages,\'\' Mr Hannon said.
``The water\'s warm, the beaches are pristine and uncrowded, the waves are perfect for learning. You can\'t wish for more than that!\'\'
Although there are a number of tours that go from Sydney to Byron, Kool Katz Go North Surfing Adventure is the first and only surfari that takes backpackers from Byron to Agnes Water and 1770.
``I think it will gain in popularity because I invest a lot of myself in it. Backpackers see that and appreciate it,\'\' Mr Hannon said.
``I'm also not too modest to say I have the gift of the gab and they love the stories.''
Extremely well priced for what it offers, the cost per person for a 6 day return surfing trip is AUS$349.
The tour includes 4 progressive surfing lessons and equipment, travel, hostel accommodation in 3 different towns, all breakfasts, a 5hr canoe trip in Noosa, dolphin feeding at Tin Can Bay in Queensland and 2 main BBQ meals.
``The nights we don't have a BBQ included we get together shop, cook and eat a cheap but good communal meal. I'm blown away by how much everyone dug that part. They saw it as a great opportunity to bond together and make good friends,'' Mr Hannon said.
Stuart Phillips, an English Backpacker who signed up for the inagural tour, could not have been more pleased with the trip.
``It was awesome from start to finish. I really enjoyed the relaxed approach and learnt a lot from Terry,'' he said.
``It's a package that has diversity and is action packed.''
Another English backpacker, Victoria Beaver, said she would recommend the trip to everyone.
``It was great! Terry is fab and made the whole trip really amusing. It was the best 6 days in Oz so far!'' she said.
Kool Katz runs surf lessons in Byron Bay daily. The next Go North Surf Adventure will leave Byron Bay on Monday, July 30. Go North Surf Adventures will run approximately once a month from then on. Places are limited to 12. Cost is $349.
